Industrial media converter from copper cable to fiber optic cable from ORingNet

Media converters convert the physical propagation medium of the network from copper cable to fiber optic cable. Network connections via optical fiber, also called fiber optics (FO), have two advantages over copper connections:
  • the maximum distance between two Ethernet components increases from 100km (copper cable) to 0.5-2km (multimode FO) or to more than 100km (singlemode FO)
  •  Fiber optic (FO) is insensitive to electromagnetic interference
Industrial media converters from ORingNet are either mounted directly on DIN rail or inserted as a plug-in module in a corresponding 19" chassis.
